I don't make resolutions...

BUT... that being said... I have some things I would like to accomplish in my personal life this year...

  • Read more - this is an easy one... I have a ton of books that I have bought with the intention of reading and just haven't gotten to them... sooooo this is very exciting for me.  So far I have a couple on deck and look forward to turning off the tv in the evenings and read.  I also include actually reading the Vanity Fair and New Yorkers that I get before I get the new one in the mail.  I tend to let them pile up to about six months worth and then I can't really process everything that I have so just put them in the recycling bin.  If I don't read the magazines right away I am actually going to cancel the subscriptions.  I don't read Interview anymore... it's done.  I don't read some of the other magazines that I have let the subscriptions slide.  I love magazines but seriously if I don't read them why subscribe?
  • Save more - so how am I planning on doing this? I mean in all honesty I am pretty frugal.  I don't want to say I am cheap, because I am not that at all... but I am pretty frugal.  So how to I put that frugality into something that actually will financially make a difference?  Ok so here goes.  And this was a really really hard decision for me to make. But with everything the way it is now in the world... I am no longer contributing to my IRA.  Last year I lost over $3000.  Which is basically what my contribution was.  So sure I broke even.  But that is not the point.  So I have decided that I am not contributing in 2012 but will use that money to pay off even more of the principal on my mortgage.  This potentially increases my home value 25%.  That is much better of a return than my IRA at this time.
  • My friend L has this thing she posted on line that in even numbered years she doesn't buy new clothes.  Ok so this might be really really difficult for me, but I love and adore the idea so I am going to actually think about adopting this model for the year.  It's really funny because I have lots of clothes in my closet and dressers that I should wear and don't.  So now I will... L said that it's like shopping in your own closet.  I have to add for me it will be like shoe shopping too!
  • In addition to this... I used to fill my fridge with food that I don't eat.  So that is a tremendous waste.  I am actually going to plan out meals.  Yep... plan out meals.  And well rounded meals too. Not just pasta.  Ok pasta with chicken.  But something with some protein.  I will bake more.  I will try new recipes and share.  I want to have dinner parties.
  • I want to reach out to my friends more.  I am not a real fan of the phone so much anymore.  Funny how as an adult the phone isn't as important as it was when we were teenagers!  So because I have bought over 100 postcards in the past year that are gorgeous to look at but won't they mean more in the hands of the people I like?  I do believe so....
  • Make these last days and months (hopefully) of Herschel's magical and comfortable.  I know that I have limited time but its so very important that he has a great life and in this last chapter I have to face all the challenges that face us with the dignity that he has shown me for the past 15 years.
  • Take pictures!  Take more pictures!  I am so in love with photography that I don't know why I don't take pictures everyday of every little thing. So I am going to be far less judicious and just shoot away. It's the only way I am going to learn more about my cameras and their functionality.  F bought me a camera to replace the one that was stolen when we were in California and honestly it's lovely. But it wouldn't hurt me to learn to love the camera that I bought to replace it right?  I don't like the way it handles but learning to love it is a goal. And also with my frugality... I can't buy anymore camera apps.  I have about 40 on my phone now and really only use the hipstamatic and sometimes the Camera+... both GREAT apps but there are 38 more that I haven't used but maybe once.... so I will use them more.
  • Keep a clean and less cluttered home.  Which means no more magazine piles.  No more paper piles.  No more buying soaps and just putting them in the linen closet to use later... use what I have ... make room.  (again pointing to the frugality....)
  • Turn off the tv for at least an hour every night.  I have a dvr so I really do not watch live tv anymore so I have to turn off the tv for at least an hour.  I figure this will give me time to read, write, clean and be productive!
So all these are things I should already be doing.  But I don't completely actually do full on.

Its really important to set some goals and make some plans for sure, and nothing is better than sharing with the world.  So make a plan... put it in writing... put it out in the world because to share yourself with others is a gift in and of itself!

Ok off to finish the latest batch of bacon jam and clean a drawer and finish The Wednesday Letters .

Oh sweet baby Jeebus. I had plans.... oh did I have plans. Plans to clean out some (ok at least one drawer in my dresser tonite). Not for any other reason that I need the space for stuff I have hidden all over the place in nooks and crannies that are overflowing with this junk. But I have sat in front of the tv. This should come as no shock to anyone that knows me. I think honestly I might have to turn the tv off right now (it is 9:15) and get to work. It is only one drawer after all. It isn't like I have to pack up the entire house into four boxes and everything else must go right? Right.

So what do I think am I going to do first? Do I hit the dvd drawer/movie drawer? Do I work on the jewelry maddness I have happening consistantly all over the place? What about the makeup shinanegans in the bathroom closet drawer? How about the socks and tights situation of crazy I got going? If I planned it right and did what I was supposed to do I would have had them all done by now. Oh slacker me, I have to turn on the tv, watch some documentary (half assed I must admit) on some 50s documentarian that I thought might be interesting (it wasn't and I don't even remember the name and I just watched it...oy) or Sunday Morning from last week (hello super not so secret design crush Jonathan Adler and your husband Simon Doonan) or how about 10 episodes of Robot Chicken. Yeah not so productive.

But the weekend is almost here. I can maybe attack the crap then. I need an interventionist to come in and shake me to my core I think. Yes my nick name is Zoe and I am addicted to the tv and the internet, I am officially addicted to ... Comcast. Do they offer a nice retreatie rehab center for that? Where is my Promises Recovery Center for that? I want to know. I wonder if my health plan will cover it? What would that coverage rider be called.... Multi Media infatuationistis?

Ah but the tv is turned off. I am about to hit "publish" and get on with it already. Baby steps. They say the first step is admitting you have a problem.

No more email or reader feeds or steevoh for me for the next three hours. Promise. It can't be that hard can it?

Wish me luck and hopefully my clutter will diminished as a result. Lets hope.

I survived. I wasn't sure if I would, but I did.

I thought I was going to make myself completely crazy, Saturday, but I survived and I am totally proud.

Halloween we went over the Hi-Dive for a couple of really great bands. I didn't costume it, but Dave K made me "dark side of the moon" which was magic. I think I pulled it off and the Root Beer Vodka cocktail helped. Don't you dare mock, because it was delicious. Walked by BW's old house, forgot the good times there. As we were walking by I thought of Star Wars sheets, freezing my ass off having to crash wearing mittens, and great closets. Saturday we went out not to a nightclub but to a bar which was really actually pretty fun. We had a chance to chat, not about anything heavy which was totally great. Just nice chit chat and came home. Last night we went over Angelos for pizza, it was like a time warp, nothing has changed since I was a young girl and we went there for dinner. I had a first date with S there when I was 15. And last night it kind of felt the same. It was fun. Then we went to TV on the Radio at the Ogden. It was so good. The Dirtbombs just kicked my ass. To the very last minute they pounded those drums. Then TV on the Radio knocked me out. Took some fair pictures. Not the best, but we made fun of the guy using a flash for every shot unneccesarily. Saw the pictures today...over shot dude. Drop that flash down, you can adjust it. I of all people shouldn't be the one to tell you that. Besides you are getting paid for your pictures probably or didn't have to pay to get in, which I gladly did by the way.

I had no trick or treaters. It was kind of a drag.

Catching up on tv tonite and getting through all my magazines and to do list.

My friend got engaged over the weekend, and the flickr post of the proposal just made me absolutely cry. It was brilliant and so funny. I am so happy for those to wackie kids I can't stand it. Now I have to come up with an appropriate engagement present. Don't judge, but I might see about a set of these.

OK back to watching tv.

"did you not tell them they were the lord's chips?"

So... I never really call out the work of people I know or have known here. I think it gives too much away of who I am which I take great care to actually keep out of the blog. I did it once and had to take the post down because honestly it freaked me completely out.

But that being said....

One of my best friends and my favorite person in the world back in the time a while back...did such an awesome job on Nacho Libre I can't stand it. Since I have Showtime now I could have Steevoh record it for me. There is subtlety in his mix. I only wish I could have heard it in the way it should be, not just through my two tv speakers, but in surround, because I know there are little nuances that I hear but I know I am missing stuff.

I am always really proud when I look at his IMDB page and see all the kick ass things he works on.

So there it is... when his Mom called me a couple years ago and said he had just finished working on it I promised her I would go and see it and didn't, and I am really sorry I didn't because, ok... I am not the biggest Jack Black fan (yes... he was ok in High Fidelity) and seeing this in a theater just never happened. But its actually pretty damn subtlely funny. So now I am watching it, listening to it and enjoying it. Ok Jack Black you aren't so bad... But Marc YOU ROCK and I am not saying that just because you mixed Run Ronnie Run either.

So its a funny thing. I am going through files and trying to eliminate a lot of superfluous junk. I am slowly progressing. I have alot of junk. I pulled down a portable file box from my closet. Holy memory filled junk collector batman...

I found restaurant receipts and holiday gift present receipts from almost 6 years ago. It is really a good thing to shred these things. I am shredding group insurance coverage policies from plans I don't have anymore. I found birthday cards from people I don't know anymore, those I am not shredding. The one thing that I did come across was a package of mail that I didn't expect to. I thought honestly that I had filed them away in my storage. I pulled one out and honestly I wanted to barf after reading just part of one. What a funny little deal that is. I used to (way in the past) read them and weep but this time it is for very different reasons. Now I can't help but laugh, so ridiculous. And the timing couldn't be better. Self actualization being in vogue right now. Tomorrow after some errands I will continue this I have quite a mess of stuff.

I am watching Cashmere Mafia a(***edited to say: I haven't actually watched Cashmere Mafia, but I did and am watching Lipstick Jungle and that is what I meant) and I will say their continuity is really icky and you can see their mic pacs under the clothes. I want it to succeed if only because I like Lindsey whatshername and look its Andrew McCarthy but still ... this isn't very good. And what is it with Kim Raver's face in the bathroom?

Hard to believe its already 10. Yikes... where did the evening go?

I am craving birthday cake..chocolate birthday cake with cheap white frosting right now. Just in case you were wondering.

I loves me a good documentary...too bad I haven't made mine....

When I was in film school we did a "side by side" compare and contrast of the two versions of Cat People. And of course as you would imagine, the Natasha Kinsky version was more popular in our class. I am just being honest. Everyone liked it better. And I don't think that it was too surprising at the time. I think the Georgio Moroder soundtrack had quite a lot to do with it. And the fact that Natasha Kinsky was naked in it. It was just more contemporary and being that this was an intro level 100 course, very introductory, what did we know? I am excited to revist the classic on January 14th (well actually just on Steevoh on the 14th as I probably won't actually get to the program until at least the 19th). I think with my broader view and knowledge of film and production and film anthropology now (which my parents paid a pretty penny for me to know about), I will find out if there just might be a different result. And a documentary about the man behind the movie before? Narrated by Martin Scorsese? Sign me up. Le' sigh.
I mean our professor showed us Near Dark as a contemporary masterpiece she also showed us Vamp as yet another modern take on the monster movie. Eh... it was allright. She really tried hard to hold tight to our rather limited attention on those Friday afternoons and did a lot of compare and contrast discussions. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. But she really did try.
So in today's email, I get my daily VSL piece of daily information and today's was and is a doosie. I am actually really impressed with Turner Classic Movies and their Val Lewton film festival. I am really quite excited to go home tonite after work and set my dvr for the whole thing. I mean the documentary alone is cool, but 10 movies to back it up? That is way over the top and really impressive. I have to hand it to the programmers at TCM... way to f'n go, you have made a believer out of me, that you are trying to grasp a contemporary viewer. Well done.
Thank you Very Short List, seriously because I won't have had a clue about this and would have totally missed out, just as I have nearly missed out The Jewish Americans . I watched the last half hour of the second portion last night after calling my Mom and Dad's house and their having told me about it. Oops, but what I saw I really enjoyed. But after going to pbs.org, I see that they are re-airing the segments so I can set up the tape. Although the series is NOT expensive at all, I think last night it looked to be $34.99 (but don't go looking for it anywhere because I couldn't find it). Go to the website and check out the resources page... wow... sometimes (well alot of the time...pbs can just curl my toes and I am not saying that just because I produced for them).
I also loves me a really good music video. This not only creeped me out, but oddly amused me.
Please to enjoy:

From Latke Soda Pop to Bukowski in two easy steps... betcha didn't think it could be done...

Because Hannukkah has less than 8 days to arrive...and I am down for those 8 Crazy Nights (well not really, I have learned to hate this song, even though me and a room mate drove another roommate completely bat shit crazy talking like Cajun Man when ever we were in the house I sadly can not stand Adam Sandler from SNL). I am going to send you into online shopping bliss with some of the things that I kinda would be amused to receive or maybe you would be (this in no way constitutes a wish list of any kind... just ideas little bubbelahs... just ideas for you):
  • Jones Chanukah Soda four pack - Yummmmmie Latke Soda...... (via: link )
  • Heros of the Torah juice glasses - Ok I have them, I will write about getting them after later, I am still annoyed I should have ordered them from Fishs Eddy... I probably would have been better off even if they are more expensive that Urban Outfitters.
  • Torah Personalities trading cards - because you can never have enough pictures of bearded guys making hand gestures... where is the picture of RUTH? HUH? These guys are not actually in the Torah... maybe I could use them as coasters for my juice glasses.
  • Jewtopia - Because one of the authors could be a cousin... could maybe not be...MISHPUCHA!!!!.... and it is actually pretty funny... I have looked at it in Borders so I know
  • I Heart Jewish Boys tshirts - OK so maybe my male readers might not be so interested but then again... nothing too new or off the hook funny but this one I thought was clever. AND its a fundraising site for a BBYO region... now I am kvellin'
  • No Limit Texas Driedel - I have always wanted to get a craaaazy game of driedel goin' maybe now its a possibility
  • Jonathan Adler's Skyline Menorah - not really what I would want (but I think this might be the year I actually do go and buy it for myself!) from his site, but I am working on a theme here...
  • and for a true sign of the times Crate and Barrel hooks ya up for the Chanukah Bush but odd CB2
  • A subscription to Guilt and Pleasure because even though I buy Heeb I really think I am too old but between them they almost make one Davka which was really great in its day.... (although Guilt and Pleasure is pretty great and far more intelligentsia...sorry Heeb!)
  • MahJong Jewelry - but really I would break one up and make it into a keychain which is far more practical for me.
  • A Jackie Mason Famous Broadway Cheesecake - because seriously (ok not really) a Kosher, Parve/NonDairy, non actual cheesecake "cheesecake" sounds awful, but for those who want brisket for dinner and keep kosher... look you have a desert option, me? I will take this instead.
A cow erker, just walked up to me... made me turn around and said "thats not my monkey" and walked away. Brilliant. Absolutely completely brilliant. I wish I had thought about that. I am keeping that and spreading its joy.
Really? Bukowski a Sympathizer? Really? Really... you are going to go that route? Good luck selling any house right now, but trying to save some p.o.s. because he slept there? Really? How about making sure that there are seedy dive bars and women to keep those sore souls hashing it out, open... how about making sure that there are always beers available to sad sacks wanting a little courage and fire, how about trying to save what really matters... no one cares where Charles Bukowski slept, people care where he drank and fucked. Sorry but its true. So stupid.
I do have on my list The Pleasures of the Damned though and havent yet picked it up... I am just trying to be good, but that is bad and not in a good way. Years back I loaned someone almost all of my Black Sparrow editions (but one) and NEVER GOT THEM BACK , so this is the only affordable way to get the stuff back I suppose. I have always hoped he would give me the stuff back but we split up before that ever happened so lesson learned, never give someone you don't think you really really love your First Edition Charles Bukowski books and never go with a hippy to a second location. So happy chanukah to me and if the works were writen by a Nazi Sympathizer well then the irony is double I guess.

Post deleted...

I deleted the last post because it was completely self congratulatory and self indulgent and I already said my piece about the issue of financial stability below. So that being said... I am starting over and post something later.

I am watching tonite Sunday Morning. Really honestly this really is a great show. After a busy day today this really is a nice way to relax and wind down. I really really loved this segment. Sometimes I find that the segments, just kind of end, and don't really go anywhere. But this one was better. I am becoming an advocate for recycling. I really do find that almost everything that I use is recyclable. I actively look for packaging that will as well. My condo association won't pay for recycling bins, but the association next to us does, so that is super rad. The playground lady is completely deluded. I am sorry some plank is not fun. But Gehery's design looks AWESOME. I do have a complaint, CBS feeds almost every other one of their shows... Why not Sunday Morning... come on.

I went to a political fundraiser for my friend PoPo's husband that is running for City Council in the city that he lives in. PoPo was wearing this really great jacket that I am actually considering going and getting one tomorrow on my lunch. She gave me permission, so its good to copy and approved. Now I just have to find a coupon in any of the 100s of magazines I have piled up like a crazy lady around the house. The story about bees was amazing. I mean seriously... they showed a baby bee hatching. That is seriously cool. I think today's show was almost perfect.

I wanted to get to the grocery store tonite but my feet totally swelled up on me standing around so I am just going to have to go tomorrow. When I was taking out the recycling, I saw this big honking raccoon and I have to admit it scared the begebus out of me.

On the agenda, other than the grocery shopping is to figure out what to do with my old tv, my entertainment center (which is now thankfully empty... I have WAY too many cds... perhaps I go back to half.com and sell stuff off, I don't know) and what to do about hanging my new tv. Maybe I should subscribe to Organize Magazine to help me out a little bit. This magazine looks like something I would get a lot out of. Add this to my things to do tomorrow, go to Barnes and Noble and find it. And there is a new Guilt and Pleasure out too.

Oh and I really think that I need this for my cube. Thank you google reader and Apartment Therapy LA.

Man am I going to be a busy girl.

Some bulleted thoughts from this weekend...

  • TerraCycle Plant Food ----- Because I am in the process of trying to get a green thumb and not just have a green pinkie (I can NOT revive an orchid after its bloomed to save my life) I am learning about fertilizing and general care outside of just watering.  So when I read on TreeHugger that this tiny little company was being sued by Scotts (the link is for a bbs on their website which is buried, but not too far in, which surprised me that it was even there) I had to go and see what it was all about.  So I went to the TerraCycle website and immediately feel in love with their project, their vibe and what they are doing. I am not interested at all in throwing a boat load of chemicals on my herbs which I will eventually cook with if I can get them to grow at all, no thanks. I am not really too into the idea of worm poop either but honestly and I get it... that is what fertilizer really truly is.  So I go and read about the lawsuit being waged against them.  Honestly... I have to say this... and it will come as no big surprise, but, this is exactly one of the reasons why I hate attorneys.  I have a good friend who is one (and I like him) but really for the most part, they can suck it.  No one is making any money here (especially Terracycle which hasn't made a profit yet)  except the fucking attorneys.  I have worked for high power attorneys, sent out their bills, watched their billable hours, looked at their recharges... I promise you Scott's attorneys are making bank and that totally sucks as are the TerraCycles as well... no attorney will work for free (no matter what they say about Pro Bono... its not free, which this case I assure you is not).    So instead of going and buying Scotts plant food or Miracle Gro (yes they are owned by the same conglomerate, as well as Smith and Hawkin...AND believe me I am saying anything bad against Miracle Gro...don't sue me, but about their behaviour, and the fact that they are synthetic and by no means a "natural" product what so ever...that's all... don't sue me) go and support the little guy, the company that is recycling pop bottles and worm poop (I read its actually politely called "castings") to make YOUR plants better.  Its organic, chemicals-that-you-can't-spell free (which is the way I am trying to live my life when I can, its a personal choice right now...I am trying to not eat or drink anything that is made of things I couldn't easily spell... I will excuse Coca-Cola and its fine fine product TaB but that is all I am blatantly allowing), and run by some pretty great young entrepreneurs that need to be given a chance to make it I think.  I am also when I buy my planting soil going to buy the non commercialized brand that my local greenhouse sells.  Baby Steps.  And besides if worse comes to worst I can always print out some lucky bamboo and not have to worry about it at all.  (found via How About Orange , which I have to add is one of my favoritest newest reader adds.)
  • Compact Florescent Bulbs - OK I have been slow to get on the train with this one.  Mostly because I use  remote dimmers all over the house.  So because you (meaning the average consumer out there) couldn't dim a CFL I have not jumped on board.  But I found out recently that they now are being manufactured ( this is the company I got mine from at Lamps Plus...they were awesome, thanks Mark!).  It is probably accomplished in the ballast, I don't know, but I am glad that they are made now.  All I know is that I am thrilled that they make them.  I will never have to buy a light bulb again for this house (other than my small light fixtures by the bed).  The outlay was about 80 bucks for 8 bulbs but in the long run I think that it will be worth it.  I don't really care about that to be quite honest (and they were on sale) but more its about not spending the money on the energy for the other 100 watts, I am happy to use 23 watts thankyouverymuch.  Just remember the bulbs work best if they are left on for 15 minutes or more.  I did not know that and I think its interesting information.  I must add now that I have them in my lamps, I am just a touch disappointed, they don't dim easily and the color they send off is very yellow, which is not a good tone for me.  I am glad I only opened three of the bulbs, because the other ones are going back (and the manager said that as long as I have the packaging - which I do- I can bring the others back, which is very very nice).  And I am getting hopefully that new light fixture in the dining area anyway, so really it would have been a giant waste.  Which is absolutely against the point.
  • I need to read more actual books not just websites
  • My carpet is filthy
  • Photography and picture taking - in general I try and take at least one picture a day (thanks Valentine for the inspiration and the pushing to do it), it might be good it might be crap but I want desperately to be able to justify going out and buying a camera with 7.2 mp (or more).  To have it and take pictures of Herschel is a little nuts.  There are so many great sites out there that I peruse (see above) for inspiration but have yet to go to a museum to look at collected art.  It is completely retarded.  I have a friend who is a legitimate photographer and has legitimate professional photographer friends and I can't bring myself to call him up and say... help me.  I look at the same stuff every day pretty much and I need to stretch my legs and open my eyes to the world around me.  But its hard.  I have been given the luxury of time in the evenings now (no matter how passive aggressive the situation is... I am going to start running with it) and need to take advantage.  I find I like the color of the light in the evenings best, right before the sun goes down its warm which is best.  I want to justify taking pictures and posting them.  I want someone to look at my pictures and say "wow" like I have with so many others.
  • Molecular Gastronomy is crazy - and from what this post shows and details...incredibly good  food can be amazingly finely tuned and prepared.  Really Denver needs to find a chef to step up to the plate... sure Radek Cerney has his potato foams and they are good, but there is hardly anything this adventurous locally.  Maybe I could talk the chicks that live upstairs from me that are going to culinary school to consider this as an option... they aren't that adventurous themselves I don't think. At least from what we have talked about they aren't.  Maybe H could consider it...she manages a restaurant...hmmmmm sounds like a nutso plan regardless.
  • Plarn - Yes it is a made up word, but believe me when I tell you I think you will hear it out and about in the crafty recyclable lexicon.  There are other ways to make plarn besides looping but I like it in its complete simplicity.  Now I just need to learn how to read a pattern and I will be golden.  I mean this is a cute little bag right?  I need to remind those around me to save their store bags and to not throw them away.  If anything it will give me something to do linking those loops together while I am chilling out in the evenings.
These are the major things that I have rattled around this weekend in my brain.  I have read and skimmed through a ton of magazines and can honestly say I am nearly caught up (which is a frightening prospect), I cleaned PART of my carpet (especially the spot where the coffee seems to land constantly... I am a little spillie in the mornings sometimes), cleaned my bathroom, organized some paper chaos and went and bought some supplies to start crocheting.

Is about noon thirty and I am going to run out to do some errands and take advantage of this day.  At three o'clock where ever you are please don't forget to observe however you can your rememberences, sure this is an additional day off from work, the unofficial start of summer, but also a day to cast a thought to those who have served and are serving to keep our country safe (whether we agree with the politics behind it we have to stand behind those that are enforcing it).

the happy IKEA blue bag

So when I was in Phoenix, I impulsively bought two of the blue IKEA bags for 59 cents.  I have to be honest, I said that I was going to use them, but didn't really think that I would.  Holy crap those things are handy.  Honestly.  Anyone want to go to IKEA and buy me a couple more?

So far in the past week and a half almost wo weeks I have used them for the following:
  • recycle bin (this is a dedicated bag, it holds an incredible amount of stuff and the handles make it super easy to carry)
  • grocery bag carrier (I had four bags from Sunflower and two from Safeway the other night and for the first time, able to move all my bags in at one time.... easily)
  • trash bag (I could empty all my smaller trash cans - bathroom, bedroom, scraps, lint holder etc into the one bag and then take out to the dumpster)
  • laundry bag (well I didn't use it for that, because my laundry room is very close to the bedroom, but it so could work)
  • goodwill donation bag (lots and lots of stuff can go in here I learned.  I think I got rid of more stuff than I anticipated)
  • book bag (books to storage was the motivation)
  • soil bag carrier
  • catch all in my trunk (this is why I need a couple more)

I don't have much going on except I made the decision tonite that while completely inspired by Apartment Therapy's Small Cool Kitchen Contest, which I am NOT having anything to actually do with because there is no Denver site associated with it, but my kitchen is in desperate need of a fix. I have a teenie tiny pantry and honestly while I do not eat at home anymore, I am going to try and get this little kitchen that I have fixed up. So that I am prepared when I do.

I have to move stuff out of my pantry and into storage, which means I have to get my storage cleaned out.

Its nice to have plans already in the works for the weekend I suppose.

Work trip next week. Not so much looking forward to it, but I am happy to do it because it is part of my job and I only have to do it three times a year.
