Bedroom Furniture

This site isn't quite as good as it should be, but I think I may have JUST found my bedroom furniture after at 20 year search. Yes its taken that long. I am worried that I might be giving up, but what you can not at all tell from the picture is that the furniture is actually quite lovely. Nice grown up big girl furniture. Who cares that the company licensed Mary Kate and Ashley to "design" for them... who cares, this was quite nice.

I just have to pick my finish and wait 4-6 weeks for delivery from Manitoba!

I am though really glad that I can order it in at least four different options for white finishes. My bedroom is fairly decent sized but with big peices of furniture it may make the space look much much smaller so that is why I want to go with white. I am only ordering dressers and nightstands. The headboard will be custom ordered and probably be material balasts with buttons... you know... like this (or something like this). I just want clean lines and lush. It shouldn't be so damn difficult. But apparatantly anything white for bedroom furniture has to scream fugly and drekorated and blech. So this has actually been the best of all worlds. And what is really super scarey is that JC Penny of all places has the best price on the headboard. To order something custom without the actual bed jacked the price up three times more than Penney's price for a third less bed, I don't like the footboard business and a box frame "frame" for the bed diminishes storage and access should I want it (I mean I definately need it, um helloooo I am a pack rat) under the bed.

And for the record if you are looking for white furniture (even white "weathered" furniture) the only place you are going to find anything is at Guys and Dolls which yes, is a children's store, but this isn't children's furniture at all. And it comes from Canada eh?. Which is pretty damn cool. It doesn't come cheap though and that is a drag, but I may have to force the Bro into fullfilling a promise that he made to me last Spring and have him contribute... didn't you say you would buy me bedroom furniture dude? Time to pay up buckaroo. How much to you love your dear ole' sis? Huh?! Only partially kidding.

The next home decorating project will be deciding about couches and updating the entertainment armoire-lite sitch in the living room. The one I have now is tired. Black laminate from Target... tired. But I can't displace the 2000 cds I have in the storage, so the pressure is on to figure out something.

I just hope I have better luck and don't have to search for 20 years.
