blessed be the flavored syrup....

I was cooking all day today. I made pasta sauce with roasted minced garlic, carmelized onions and a cabernet reduction with ground beef. I made a cream cheese dip with lox and onions and scallions. I made the base for a vanilla and lavender orange blossom honey. I blended up and put in the freezer to set up, frozen individual frozen peach daquaris and individual frozen chocolate strawberry daquaris. I made some really mediocre hummos, I really like it spicer actually and should have gone the chipotle route, but didn't have any so its just garlicie and kind of bland. I put together some gaucamole for the cajun turkey sandwhiches I made and put in bags for lunches this week. I made chocolate chip cookie dough for the Bro when he comes over tommorrow to help hang a shelf in the laundry room since the new appliances in there clearly can't have anything sitting on top of them since they are curved and not flat (which is really annoying.

But the best part of my experiment in cooking today was going to Cost Plus today and finding out that they now carry Sugar Free White Chocolate Flavored Syrup. Which means that the only reason for me to walk into starblechs ever is now completely over, a mute point, done. I can make the White Chocolate Latte to my taste (which is far less sweet than the way they do it, half a squirt is plenty babies) and not have to pay almost four and a half bucks for a coffee just because I would like an extra shot of espresso. And because the syrup is made with Splenda I am not getting all my caloric intake for the next two days in one cup of coffee!

It was a very special treat to find. And I was a very good girl and only bought one bottle. The Zoe of before would buy like four and have no where to put them. I am far more practical now.

Also I am completely obcessed with some lamps that I just saw on CSI: Miami. The one with the cam girls. Anyway in the "room" of the chick who totally looked like Jessica Simpson but with a brown hair, the set decorator used these fantastic lamps, one in green, one in white and then on the other side another green. The lamps were shaped like giant gummi bears. Fantastic. Lunatika in Miami apparantly is the only place to find them according to the lord master Google, but the website doesn't show them at all. I am very seriously thinking I have to call on Monday from the office and see if they have them anymore. I think I want one. But only... if it is at a reasonable price. That reasonable price? I don't quite know yet.
