Dear Google Reader, I have not abandoned you, I have just been busy...

Wow being away from the computer for over five days really piles up the articles in my reader/feed thingiemahookie... holy wow. I probably have 1,000 articles I have to plug and plow through. And it didn't help that I had about 40 things piled up on my desk today that I needed to complete because apparantly my cow erker, can't and won't actually do something that is in her job... do you detect a tad bit of snark... you should. I am not trying to hide it. Its out there.

In an effort to cut down on some of the drag on my reading I dropped the following feeds:

  • Pamie.com - I loved her book and I think she is a pretty talented writer but really I skim and I can do that going to the site when I have time.
  • Make Magazine's feed - way way too techie for me right now. I don't even use my Roomba as it is, I can't think about modifying it so I will maybe bring it back, but its too much for me.
  • Fabsugar - its about trendy fashion choices and I am far from trendy anymore and can't afford half of what they are shilling so bye bye
  • Superficial - well, what can I say... another one of those celebrity gossip sites that I thought would be fun to read, but really, not so much. Pandering to the papparazi and giving them an outlet to sell their wares, I would rather pick up an Us Magazine from a gal that I work with.
  • No Impact Man - I love this guy's idea of living on this planet making no environmental impact, really, I think its amazing, but really, I live in Colorado, I need to use my car, I have to pick up my dog's poop with plastic because I don't have a trash can every 20 or so feet so walking around with it in a peice of newspaper just doesn't appeal, I don't have access to the subway or a quick grocer under my apartment. I wish him well, but he has many convienences in NYC that I simply don't have. I do wish him well though I am just not going have him in my reader anymore.
  • and there are about 20 more that I deleted last week but didn't write down. These above are just the ones today. I loved reading them but just didn't scratch that itch anymore. Part of why I put it in here is also to remind me to go back to the site now and again and see what I was missing I guess.
I also added recently these few feeds but they are in no order whatsoever:

  • Wholpin DVD reader - maybe they will actually put out a fourth dvd and I will be that much closer to the half of my paid subscription,
  • Amatuer Gourmet - this guy loves his food and writes so well about it, several of his entries are already marked to read later, just for ideas on desserts
  • Previously On - mostly because I miss the old Television Without Pity and because their wrap ups are short, sweet, pretty much what happened and to the point, easy and quick enough to read inbetween work requests.
  • JPG Magazine - I have a subscripiton (thank you Valentine) and I am registered on the site, so it will be a great reminder to maybe post something. Plus Heather and Derek have a great eye and I like what many of the readers like sometimes.
Jacked up my car mirror pulling into the garage at B's apartment tonite. I am really mad at myself because it was a total bonehead move. I knew I was too close to the access pad thing but scrapiedie scrape scrape there it was. And because of the downward slope of the driveway it made it worse as I tried to pull back and away. My guess is that it will be a couple hundred (at the least) to get that driver side mirror buffed and painted at the body shop. Just dumb. B offered to pay for it and said he wanted the bill. Puhleeze, just because I pick you up for dinner every night doesn't make you responsible for my being a jackass. Then he said... I am going to talk to your Mother. Seriously. It was pretty amusing. But, Grandpa dude... do...not... whatever you do...talk to Mom. I am a dumbass lets not give the woman any more amunition to concur with me. But if there is any good news, we do know of a really good Honda Body Shop that so far everyone in this family now, short of my Dad has taken their car to, Grandpa included, so maybe I can get a discount or something.

Saw some baby geese hatch out of their eggs this morning when I was on a break also. There were a bunch of people leaning over this ledge ooooing and aaaahhhing and I couldn't take not having a clue what was going on so I went down to look. It was crazy. There were four eggs, but only three hatched so far. By three o'clock those little geese chicks were out swimming and walking around and plucking away at the grass. The mom goose was hissing at anyone that walked by. It was really cool. I got a couple pictures of them walking around so precious. I hope that they make it. Everyone is just transfixed by them also. Its really cool.

Nature. Go fig.
