Viva La Weekend!

Oh freakin' lay man. Seriously. This week has been busy and crazy and frustrating and elating and snowy and foodie and more wrapped up in a little lighted canvas of holiday bizarreness. I ate so much today it is scary. I shouldn't have and now I am feeling the pain (well the heartburn actually). Its ok though because tomorrow, I go to the "J" if they are open and I plan to walk to my hearts content to nowhere just for the fun of the wonkie feeling you get when you step off that treadmill.

Speaking of wonkie feelings... last night at about 4 in the morning I woke up thinking about Calvin's and playing pool there with Pete and Ian and how they thought they had discovered the place. I laughed out loud actually when I thought about the ensuing argument about how the two larger rooms were once a Miller Stockman (now this company) western ware store and how my Dad has relatively the same hat size as Randy Newman. Oh good times... from my first introduction to Calvin's to last night waking up thinking about that memory.

I chalk it all up to the time of year, reminiscing being what it is and all, but seriously I remember that conversation like it was yesterday. Why do I do that? Silly.

Tonite we did finally make it for the Thai Crunch Salad and it was delicious. We powered through our meal though because the mall closed at 6 tonite because of the "weather" which we concluded was really pretty dumb as the roads were MUCH worse last Friday and the mall was open until 10. Whatever.

The gals at ZGallerie couldn't have cared less that we were there to buy glassware on sale or not and infact one rolled her eyes when we walked in and stood relatively near us straightening but not making eye contact because they wanted us out of there and now. Do they have a clue how much money we have spent as a freakin' family in that store in the past six months? I mean our bedroom furniture alone not to mention the other tchotchkes will keep me shopping Downtown on Larimer Square thankyouverymuch.

Jammed into Urban Outfitters to see if they have this Warhol bag in... they are carrying much of the LoopNYC line but bummer they aren't yet. Their staff actually was embracing the shoppers, they had a great mix of music playing (loudly as always) and were all cooing over this guy's dog that he brought in with him (yes the dog was cute). I would have stayed and shopped but I need nothing at all from there except maybe this hook for my keys or something in my cube at work, but they don't have them in stock and I know it so why bother. I did see a really cute dress (which isn't online) but was crazy expensive so I didn't give it much thought actually.
But now its time to hunker in... start a new book and chill for the remainder of the evening I think. I was going to clean up a little bit, but really, I am just as happy to turn on the music and read a book until I get sleepy and crawl into bed.

Oh and I made a resolution today. I am getting a cozy comfortable reading chair for the living room. I think I know what I am going to get, I just have to choose between a couple of choices available that I have. I know which fabric I want so that is groovy but I am still totally considering the chair that is part of this set. Its not that my couch isn't comfortable (which really it is more functional than comfortable) so I am ready to step up. Some people want a big screen tv... I want a comfy chair.
