So if you live in Colorado I am telling you something you already know... its a snowing and blowing out there. Blizzard conditions, upslopes with moisture coming from the gulf regions. Not exactly the Chanukah present I was hoping for from Mexico, but whatever. I have a (liter or not quite that much but it is a big) bottle of vanilla PoPo brought back from her and her husbands trip earlier in the summer though.
Since I probably will not be going into work tommorrow as I doubt I will be able to dig my car out of the drifts which are over the doors now, I might just spend the whole day baking. I have fixens for carrot cake, brownies and fudge probably. All I know is because our office shut down at two today, I have gotten alot accomplished while at home this afternoon.
I watched five episodes of this series of climbers on an expedition on Everest (those people are completely off their frikken' rockers). It was amazing to watch from the comfort of my couch but so unbelievably intense. I am always amazed to hear people's tales of summitting or attempting to summit and was fortunate enough in September to hear Jaime Clarke talk about his trips (and yes, I laughed and I cried, he is an amazing speaker and cute...) and am probably going to engage a local summiter to speak to our group at work, I just think its absolutely insane and honestly watching and hearing about it is completely inspiring. Watching the show on dvr from the Discover Channel Show made me realize shoveling a path for my puppy to have someplace to pee isn't so bad. I have it pretty damn good. I can't wait for the final episode although I think I can actually because it looks very tragic from the previews. The place will kill you if you aren't smart and get too into your head and don't listen to your guide. A VERY VALUABLE LIFE LESSON right there.
I came home and cleaned the bejebus out of my house today too. It was super nice to have the extra time to be able to scrub the floor in the kitchen (apparently I have been very messy with the flour when making bread ... oops), clean the bathroom, get into the nooks and crannies with the reachie tool on the vacuume, dust and clean all the reflective surfaces. Tommorrow I plan to maybe once I have dug out, clean out the pantry and clean out the cupboards and reorganize (something I have wanted to do for over a year but haven't had the time).
The wind blowing the snow is making a sound that is totally freaking me out, I need to go and turn on some noise in this room so I can try and get some sleep, so just in case I do have to go into work tommorrow I am rested a little bit, but I don't think I will as the conditions of my parking lot preclude me from doing much but trying to keep up with the snow drifts by my front door! Its crazy out there.
Keep warm and for my Denver folks... get those shovels ready... we are all going to be busy diggin' out tommorrow!
***edited to add***
I just went to the company website and holla if they aren't actually closing all the administrative offices tommorrow. Seriously. That is amazing. I didn't expect that to happen. I wouldn't have been able to go in anyways, but Thank You Governor Owens for declaring Colorado in a State of Emergency because the place is closed tommorrow. The whole State actually for the most part to be honest. But now I can go into the living room and hunker in with a little more tv maybe. Excellent.
