This would be a picture of Fire!

Ok first a little disclaimer... this is not the actual fire, but one from last year that I took very out of focus pictures of. Today's fire happened in the building across the way from me. It was started by two handy (hardly) men fixing airconditioning and sauldering in an enclosed area in the crawlspace between the ceiling and roof of my friends D and his wife's unit.

This couple is so super nice. And this little event is so super shitty, I am just really glad that I wasn't hope to see it all go down, but the firemen at Ladder 19 are actually worth standing around to watch, they are yummy, but this is really sad.

Four units have smoke and water damage and all the people have to move out for up to two months to have the restoration work done. There will be mold mitigation, carpet replacement, drywall work... ooooy these poor people. All because some idiot didn't check his tools and left a blow torch on or something.

It does though remind me of how freaked out I was when the "hell neighbors" (tm) Leticia and Dave (second disclaimer, that is their real names...they sucked and need to be called out on their suckitude) who used to live upstairs from me a few years back. That was my biggest nightmare, that I was going to come home with my house destroyed because they got so high they burned the house down. But they are long gone thankfully and now I just have to worry about poorly executed workmanship by my neighbors hired hands. Neat.

My friends have to move out of their house, with their two cats, (a few) snakes (eeeeewwwww) and their newborn baby. Talk about living in a universe of suck. Wow. I just feel terrible for them. I hope that they are able to move back soon. Posted by Picasa
