Hello my little bloggie babies. Long time not to blog eh? Short of kvetching about things I haven't had much happening outside the rhelm of my private and not to be bloggin' about life. So I haven't posted much of anything. Seriously. DVR has been such a freakin' godsend. I haven't missed much of anything and I don't have to worry about video tapes and that nonsence. Does this mean that I am watching new and interesting things?
You betcha.
I have watched about 20 documentaries that have played on Sundance and learned alot about the world and what other people see in it. It makes reality tv bite (although Project Runway is still near and dear to my heart, its true....) and makes me want to find some subject matter that won't get me a cease and desist letter because someone is already doing a fictionalized version of what the truth is (and yes that really happened to me... and I haven't seen anything of the freakin' film ever but I can't legally do my project because the lawyers say "no"... I hate those damn lawyers... there I said it... I do...it is out there and its my truth so suck it). I need to think about another project becuase this is itching at me now. I actually have a very funny idea about something that I could do, that wouldn't be a documentary, I just have to firm up a concept into the single sentence but it could work.
I also realized that there are some shows that I really shouldn't and can't watch anymore (CSI Miami anyone? David Caruso is the stiffist actor around, but it is seeping into every other character and it is becoming unwatchable).
I am loving like a car accident Love Monkey and not for the reasons you may think... Tom Cavenaugh annoys the crap out of me, and the goofy voice over blathering is wayyyyy too Carrie Bradshaw for even me... no... I love the show because there is seemingly always a nice little throwback 80s tune ( M/A/R/R/S Pump Up the Volume being one example of the two) and really honestly here is the reason why... I love the Eric Bogosian. Always have. His voice? Pure sex. Rwaar. Anything he does no matter even if it is this cheesy... I am going to watch. Or at least DVR it to watch later. The opening scene of Talk Radio? Lord. I digress. So I am dvr'ing Love Monkey.
I am also recording #1 Single, and here is why... Lisa Loeb nice Jewish girl... cute... perkie... likes the pink (seriously who wants to get me her fridge?)... and is having some boy problems. Her relationship with her Mom, similar to mine (except my mother would never cook with me, EVER) and she appears to have a pretty good life and is generally happy, so its compelling to watch her (of all her preciousness) struggle to meet a nice guy. Maybe there is hope for the rest of us cute 37 year old Jewish girls looking to meet a nice guy. Although I would NEVER go to Shmuley Boteach for advise (only because his wife is the same age as I am and what did she have like 6 kids with another one on the way???? OY, I just want one baby, maybe two), so someone that frum really isn't the guy that I would go to for advice. I loved that she confronted the schmuck at his book signing I would have kicked him straight in the danglies, so good for her. But I will watch a show with a gal my age, with a hello kitty rice cooker so she is ok by me (and got it on a date... ok on Isaac's show (hey is a little pervy isn't he? But whatever, I still love him), and sure I will watch her show.
And I will admit, I am beginning to be all about the random weird cartoons. Not anime, I don't really get it, but no...straight up cartoons. I will just randomly book a block on Cartoon Network and see what sticks. Its fantastic.
I am also totally LOVVVVING... Ham on the Street and even gone into my kitchen and made a couple of his recipies. I will leave it up to you to try and figure out which ones. But its hillarious and after Good Eats so its a nice block to save also.
So. Love Steevoh. Best gift I could get myself right now. I will have to desperately update that side bar for sure now I suppose!
