the obligatory kvetch, pardon me for just a moment
My friends for the most part are complete yutzes.
That being said, I am honestly hoping that I can move on and get my personal life into second gear, since its been in first for about 8 years.
I have figured out what to buy with some of the gift cards I got through out the holiday season! This is hard for me to do, because I have said before that I don't want to make foolish choices and end up with drek. So after much searching through my amazon wish list and going through those choices, I have come up with the following:
First will be Never Mind the Pollacks and then Lost Tribe: Jewish Fiction from the Edge, from the Tattered Cover.
Second will be most likely Ima Robot or Maktub or Dave's True Story from Tower Records a little bit down the block and across First Avenue.
Third and this is the toughie.... at Blockbuster do I rent with it or do I snag a couple gently used but rented dvds. There are really only a couple movies I would really like to have that I can't tape from cable. Traffic would very much be one of them, I tried to dub it but the different colors used in the different sequences was too much and the picture just rolled and rolled... and the other would be the David Cross live dvd (why? I don't know other than I kinda, well, crush him).
but I have narrowed my choices and that is a terrific thing. AND maybe while I am mosie-ing the aisles at the first two stores, I can say hello or even smile at a stranger (which is one of my goals for the new year to do daily and not be so afraid to meet new people, being that many of the people now in my life make me very sad.)
***edited to add***
I am adding this link to knockoffs of the pink Uggs that I was going to order from Nordstrom. I really want a pair of black ones because the mules that I got really are that comfortable. But for 1/10th of the price, I could stand an imitation outer and then just order the official insole which really is what makes the shoe. So there you are... just don't order them in my size for the next couple weeks ok?! Thanks!
