So on the agenda today? Well in a few minutes I am going to get into so less comfortable, meaning less like pajama wear clothing, and go to the Farmers Market. I need some fresh flowers, its a long weekend and I want to have fresh flowers, some mint so tonite I can have some people over and make Mojitos.
See, I went out on Thursday night to meet up with an old friend, not old in the sense of age, but time I have known.... R (names shortened to resemble innocence) and was sitting at the bar and every now and again would smell this mint smell, it was fantastic! Well since I haven't ever had a mojito I figured what the hell. I think I have found my new summer drink, the vanilla vodka and diet coke was a little heavy, but mmmmm mojitos.
I need to stop at Whole Foods and get some of this Dutch Parrano cheese that is also absolutely out of this world and then go into the mall and stop at Sur La Table and get a cheese slicer. I was meaning to go last night when I was there (going and buying a lovely set of pink latte bowls and a water glass which is etched all pretty for the bathroom, but plumb forgot to go upstairs and get the cheese slicer.
I decided last night that while I may not be leaving town like everyone else, I am absolutely going to treat this weekend like I am out of town. So I am vacationing here in the wilds of Denver City Proper.
Things that are happening this weekend that I will not be partaking in: Taste of Colorado (there isn't even a good C List Band playing this year --- sorry Gin Blossoms), the Denver Grand Prix (I went last year on Saturday's time trials, it was loud and very exciting but not worth doing again), the CU/CSU game (while I am an alumnus of sorts of both schools, I will let my Brother handle our representation at that game), Bronco game on Sunday (sports? unless its Hockey I don't care) and lessee, oh yeah camping in the mountains (I was invited, but respectfully declined).
So instead I am going to hit all the local touristy type of places today, just go and experience some places I do go to but with a difference mise-en-scen. Kinda excited. Going to bring my camera even.
