because I was w/out electricity for almost 24 hours

I celebrate it with wanting a Predicta classic television set. Except if I was in fact going to plunk down the bank to buy one... I would want it in pink and black with chrome accents. But that is just me. I have no idea how much it would actually cost and seriously thought about emailing the company and finding out...but once I start down that path, I really have a hard time turning around and running back to sanity. So I will just admire from afar at this point.

In other pink and black news...

These mules from Nine West may be a better use of my money right now. or even these in pink by Aerosoles... who knows. Better to oogle online than in Foleys right now, because I would spend like a fiend.

Couldn't find any fresh mint at the farmers market, it was heirloom tomatos and melons day. Everything looked really nice, but I just knew that if I bought anything it would just go to waste. Hit up a couple more markets and nothing. It was really wierd. But since the liquor stores are closed today and I am looking for a little simple sugar, smashed mint and rum, I am meeting some people in a bit and we will go and sit on a patio and order them instead. Them meaning Mojitos. And the place anyplace that isn't downtown. Too many people for my tastes.

I am looking for a little quiet. Having no power for the early afternoon and evening and morning was strangely calming and nice. I really liked it. And when I went to bed it was pitch black out and freakishly quiet. It was amazing. But I am glad that I can turn a switch on and have a reaction again. There is a strange power that comes with flipping a switch and having complete control... bam! There is illumination and then at my whimsy...none.

Its the simple things really.

My cousin is has been home from the hospital and got the tests back on what caused the encephalitis, and sure nuff... no question, the Center for Diesese Control said... West Nile. Scarey. But he is home, taking his medications and amazingly enough, back at work. Its strange because knowing if he didn't catch it in time, not that the headache and not being able to lift his head wasn't an indication that there was something seriously wrong, he could have died. From a simple mosquito bite. There are over 800 cases in Colorado right now. That isn't something to joke about or lie about or tease about. It isn't something to use for sympathy from strangers and nothing to lie about either. People are dying because of mosquito bites, their brains are swelling and its not something to joke about. There that is off my chest and sadly directed outward.

So I am going to finish some projects that sadly I couldn't do yesterday, like vacuuming (which really honestly I really do love) and go for a drink or two, we'll see.
