sometimes being in Denver can be cool

Tonite my friend and I went to Dazzle for snacks and drinks. We have been going there for years, I think we have even been going there since it was a japaneese restraunt 15 years ago. But that is besides the point. It was soooo incredibly nice. The musicians (can't tell you who they were...isn't that terrible?) were wonderful.... tight. The food? Amazing and I had the world's most interesting cocktail made with some French Liqour flavored with Ginger. Couldn't finish it (which is hardly surprising if you were to really know me...not much of a booze hound anymore) but it was tasty and pleasent. Our waitress was adorable, but I could have done a little less with dramatic cocktail shaking, but that is their "thing" I suppose.

It was super nice to get out and go somewhere besides the freakin' Roo Bar. Not that I mind it, but why oh why do we have to go to some overgrown frat bar? Haven't we grown old enough to realize that screaming over canned music that we have in our car cd players is lame? Why not go and hear some live musicians? Pay a cover because there are live musicians not just because we are walking into a bar huh? LIVE MUSICIANS. oh... and the really really good food too. Not wings and things.

Nice to come home, but freaked for a minute when I walked in because it instinctively felt like I was walking into a hotel room, the lamp by the couch was on its highest brightness (which is where I accidentally left it after looking at my friend's paint chips, she is painting her house too), the a/c was going, and it was freezing in the house. The only thing that was missing was heavy drapery on the windows and a lingering stench of smoke. So I immediately remidied that feeling, turned the lamp down, picked up the pup, and turned of the air conditioning....it feels like home again!
