poor Adam Ant
Really its quite a sad notion to see ones 80s pop star go completely mad. Poof off his rocker. Less a few lug nuts on the tires. A couple fobs short of a full chandelier. I liked Adam Ant. I still do actually. I have been known to watch Slamdance just for his parts (ok for Tom Hulce, John Doe and Harry Dean Stanton, ok so the movie in general really is pretty good), he is a white suit and delish. Too bad he has only one oar in the water.
Just got off the phone with my Mom. Sometimes she is really funny. She uttered the never say die word and then proceeded to be amazed that I am entertained by the likes of the newstyle crooning of Michael Buble', she said its oldie music... I said not when it is some hottie from Canada that is 23 it isn't. Then I told her Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has a new record out and she actually said "oooooh I knew there was a good reason to call you tonite". That's my Mom. The coolest of the cool. 20 years ago I wouldn't have said that mind you but with my age comes the wisdom to recognize that while I had a friend who consistantly pitted me against my Mother because my relationship has always been good and hers with hers wasn't, I am still friends with my Mom and not her. Funny how that all worked out hmmmm?
Brother bought me a gym membership (actually attached me to his under the family guise...well we are family...nevermind) and said that as long as I go, I don't have to pay. Which is seriously the gift of a lifetime. I am still really surprised that he is doing that. Not that he isn't giving or generous, its just a really wierd thing for him to just up and do for me. I am more than willing to pay half for the family membership as it is still substantially less than a single membership, but he isn't budging. I look forward to sitting on the bikes again reading a book and chilling out then racing around the circuit and being done in an hour every other day. This time though, no crazy anerexic crazy work out partner, that got very scarey for me. This time... me and me alone or and a portable cd player... playing Adam Ant tunes.
