ode to my mom and the best of coincidences today

My Mom....

I really just think she is the best. Just for the record. I had this friend a while back that insisted that my Mom was manipulative and miserable and controlling. Really, I have to say.... Lisa you could not have been more wrong. Tonite my Mom calls me and tells me something really sad about a family member and says, see it could be worse. She dispensed a little advice about my job sitch (and she is right and I told her so... I was kvetching about going in on Saturday about the network and she said " you know (zoe) its better than going to a job fair on a Saturday looking for a networking job), she made a funny about Passover and my Granmother, kvelled on the dog (she understood my getting tearie about mine today) and said its ok to go and buy a new vcr. And I am sorry that Lisa doesn't have a good relationship with her Mom because I do and I am fucking lucky as hell. A better relationship than with some of my friends even.

Damnit I missed..."Chris in the Morning's new show, again....speaking of lucky.

Also I was walking up Josephine to go to the dentist today, I see this yellow bug and look at the driver and think... huh I haven't seen this one person that I know that drives a bug just like that in a really long time... wonder how he is doing. And I SWEAR to GAWDUH... two cars behind the 70s yellow bug was a greysilver 2000era bug (mmmmturbonium) and wouldn't you know it the guy that I was thinking about not seeing in a while was the driver in the car. Traffic was backed up, we have a euro kiss and we are hopefully going to get together and chat it up, he lives in the lofts right next to my office building so there isn't any excuse to not catch up now! He travels and does the most amazing things, has a really fantastic philosophy on life and I just dig the hell out of him. I used to wait on him when I waited tables and got to know him then yeaaaars ago. I haven't talked with him in a couple of years. Things got wierd back then because I think he was embarrassed about a sitch that he had nothing to do with and we didn't talk. Water so under the bridge anyways.

No cavities. But they did want me to have xrays in one of these contraptions. Hey Dr. S, I understand that you have a new machine, but honey, I ain't helping you pay for it, and really.... I don't need xrays of my entire mandible (ps that is neither me nor my mouth for the record!) if I dont' get to keep them ok? Lets keep on track here. I asked how much it was going to cost and they said "oh your insurance will cover it". But if my insurance doesn't than I have to and I want to know. She didn't give me an answer so it means...alot. I want to keep the films then. I am paying for it I keep the results, but that isn't going to happen, so it isn't going to happen then!

The big guns are out of the office tommorrow most of the day so I actually get to play a little bit, then take my car to get the brakes fixed and run some errands for the big boss man. And if I can fit it in tommorrow go and get a birthday prezzie for my friend Suz and a new vcr (which I would have gotten whether my Mom said I should or not... the vcr in the bedroom will not record on SLP anymore nor rewind... time to replace it...).

Off to bed with me!
