I have spent the last couple hours watching TBS and The Family Guy. Still I hate to admit this... I am a little crabby.

I also found out what is making me sick. Um... yeah... that would be the soap I use for my dishes. I had bought this almond dishsoap at ::cough cough:: whole foods. This morning I could smell residual soap on my coffee mug and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and it still the smell wouldn't go away. So I poured in my coffee anyways. All day I was nearly barfie and complete headachey.

I came home at lunch and the damn coffee mug STILL smelled of soap through half a cup of coffee sitting on the counter festering half the day. I washed it with my Method dish soap and made some tea, and seriously I can't smell that almond crap smell anymore and with my tea in the same cup literally the headache was gone by 3:00 this afternoon. Gone is gone and that is all I can wish for. And to think, I was thinking it was coffee... I am sorry coffee for nearly blaming you... please forgive me. That almond infected me. Natural my ass. I looked at the product and its chemical city baby. Not that Method is chemical free, but there is no residue poisoning me. Yay Method! Please forgive me for straying. I am back to my happy grapefruit dish soap.

I am pitching the thermos I have been using because I can't get the smell out. Its aluminum so I can recycle it. Into the IKEA recycle bag it goes. Shalom crappy old thermos. You have served me well, but you must go.

When I woke up this morning my thermostat was reading 58 degrees. I freaked I thought my furnace went out. No in my soap poison haze I turned the thermostat off. Oops.

I didn't go out to diner tonite but cooked. I cooked! Yay! I basically shredded some beef, browned some onions, made a little stir fry and blanched some veggies. It was magic. I haven't had stir fry in over two years. Seriously. My Mom would make it once a week but hasn't since my Grandma D died and we have had to entertain B every night. He doesn't like it or eat it so Mom has removed it from her repertoire, so tonite, I winged it and am so happy with the results and I have lunch for tomorrow.

I love that Martha Stewart featured Hammond's Candy on her show today. Every year I go out to their store and get ribbon candy. They also make sponge candy which I have never been able to duplicate though my Mom does a great job. My favorite candy that they make are these little pillows and straws that are filled with chocolate something or another oh Martha told me chocolate cream. Huh. I would have figured that the coal would taste like licorice... but cinnamon! Magic! And I couldn't leave without picking up some Mitchell Sweets for Mom. Maybe I will go tomorrow?

It is on my list every year to go to and this year I think its going to be nuts now thanks to Martha. There certainly are worse things in this world. This year though I am going to try and make sponge candy on my own, two years ago I tried and it didn't work, but I think I have it figured out why it didn't work. I didn't just buy it from Hammonds!

Oh and my takeaway from the show today that did just cheer me up a bit was Jaime Oliver calling Martha "tiger". Hee.
