My Target joy... really I am thrilled to have been there on a Saturday

I had to run to Target for some dish soap and for some hair elastics.

Color me really pleasantly surprised to see the Libertine collection on the floor a day early. Color me even more ecstatic that the crepe dress I bought actually fit. (As soon as Target posts pictures not on their press site but on their actual site I will link) Sometimes in these "flights of fashion" I feel like the sizing is totally off that a "13" really is a "8" because I can't even get my leg into a pair of pants much less over my hips. But the dress... great. And affordable. Seriously... $39.99 for a black crepe designer (ok mass produced designer but who the hell cares... I do freely admit my love for Isaac Mizrahi...there is a coat in his fall collection I am about to pee to see) is a steal. I got the rhinestone skull tank top too, couldn't help myself (and I would have bought one a year ago at Macy's but $289 bucks was NUTS...this one was like $24). I might have to go back and get a pair of shorts now that I know a 13 runs pretty true to size-ish but I don't really wear shorts so that is going to take some considering. All I know is this next to the Paul and Joe collection this one might be my favorite of all of them, not just because of the skull aesthetic that runs all over everything (but that is cool...) but because that damn dress fit me. Sure I have lost a little weight in the last month, but I full on anticipated buying it, trying to get it on and having to return it. Never EVER thought that it would work out. And that makes me love this line.

Patrick Robinson had some serious potential but everything size wise ran really weird (I mean an extra large sweater that looked extra small and I don't think was supposed to be that cropped...I don't know... weird) and because of that I didn't end up liking anything. The line from Alice Temperly looks cute (and fall-ish), but there is no date associated with that line, nor the other Erin Fetherson (potentially spring-ish), I suppose we all have to wait huh? All I know is this is a home run. I only hope that some accessories hit the market too, it would be cool to see what kind of bag a Libertine/Target mashup would come up with.

Have you seen the pictures of designer Johnson Hartig's LA House? You should go and look and know that that arty clutter is what I am totally striving for. I just have to get rid of the three tvs in my living room...and I just might be there. Oh and Cindy Greene (the other half of Libertine) sings for Fisherspooner... so seriously... what is there not to love? I don't know how long the clothes are going to last because really this is the best I have seen.

Another joyous thing about being in Target is... its school supply time. The shelves are starting to get stocked. All the cute tchotckes are going to start to be placed out and I am thrilled. This really is my favorite time of the year retail wise.
