I am doing laundry tonite in preparation for my weekend out of town. I cleaned my carpets a bit last night. Sunday I had quite a little mishap with a hot cup of coffee and I couldn't have anyone come and pick up Herschel on Saturday for the weekend and have that staring out at them, much less have my mother see my carpet looking a frightfull mess.

I have a lot of cleaning that I should be doing and promise that I will get to, I just wanted to post this one link:

I was driving home from the Springs on Friday and listening to their NPR station and they has this story about Yann Martel and "life of pi" and his new book and when I came in he was just finishing up talking about this project.

I love it. I really do. I think its hysterical and brilliant all at the same time. I look forward to following this. And I might just get the books along the way (although I do have Animal Farm) just to be able to say that I am reading something that the Canadian Prime Minister may or may not be reading also.

Oh in other news a neighbor has a big planter on her patio and there is a duck nesting with eggs. Herschel is completely fascinated. I am looking forward twice a day when we are out on our walks to watch the progress, my guess is it won't be much longer for these eggs to hatch. Two more geese at the work property have hatched eggs, there are now 11 little geese chicklets running around and swimming in the lakes, it is divinely precious, I have to remember to get my camera out when I go down for a break. This has though since I watched the three other geese eggs hatch the other day probably moved me away from eating chicken eggs for a while or baking for that matter.
