did you buy Million Little Peices from Random House? Still have the receipt?

They will give you your money back. Too bad I bought mine at Barnes and Noble because they surely aren't going to poney up the the cash to give me my money back.

I have to admit that I think that is really sad of Random House. Sure they are admitting that they were wrong to have published the book under the guise of true memoir and non-fiction. But to offer money back to us poor suckers who bought it? I have only one word: Literary Pussies. Why are they backing down? I don't understand it. Why would they even consider a refund. They should take responsibility for being publishers, the editor who was supposed to fact check should be held responsible. So should Oprah. Oprah should offer up $11 to every housewife and viewer that went and bought that book because of her. She should be held responsible as well. Oprah has the power unfortunately to sit in her studio in Chicago and make instant best sellers and millionaires of editors/publishers and writers. I guarantee that she thinks twice before choosing another living contemporary author for her book club. If she even chooses another book at all. Either that or Maya Angelou will have another hit on her hands (not that I have anything against Maya Angelou... I would listen to her read anything, her voice is like melted buttah.)

Now in all fairness, I bought "A Million Little Peices" when it was first published, not after Oprah touted its glory. So I know for sure that I am out of luck where the refunds come into play. Maybe Random House will do a nice exchange for us poor suckers that helped to put it on the best seller list the first time. Nah.

I am interested to hear what the putz has to say on Larry King tonite. I also wonder if Larry will actually ask a hard tough question at all. I anticipate it being a very soft interview.

also... to those with Firefox... I am fixing the template today... I had no idea this looked like wet sock to you...
