Took the day off...

I have been working every morning on the quest to have a full time all the time positon. I decided that honestly after 8 years of working for the same guy (who I honestly thought was a mensch but while I have receieved a great severance package after being laid off...there are games being played and I don't believe mensch's are like that) without any vacation...two days (a Friday and a Monday) for a friend's wedding in Vegas and the Jewish holidays... I am due some time off.

I have decided that I am going to work on finding that creative groove that absolutely drove me. I don't quite know what the long run result is going to be but I do know that I watched "Ray" today. I watched it for the performances, the filmaking (I have always loved Taylor Hackford...he did a speaking tour for Bound by Honor and really encouraged me in film school and told me I could be a great script supervisor...we talked for about an hour about his process and how he worked with the ss on that particular movie... he laughed when I told him I had never seen "An Officer and a Gentleman" but had seen and carried the soundtrack around all over Israel "Against All Odds"). And his visual cues in this movie are brilliant. Just brilliant. While my Mom didn't particularly like it, I loved it and if Jaime Foxx doesn't win the Academy Award I will be absolutely shocked (not likely but I have to say wow).

I am taking the time this week for me. Find my soul so to speak.

Its a very exciting time for me for no other reason that I sat through a movie and really loved it. Its been a very long time. A very long time. Time to get my list started again. Time to pull the camera out again I suppose. Find someone with a skeleton of a script, a treatment, and idea and just go.
