Every year I attempt to make flavored vodka...its a nightmare. The filtering of the vodka first always slays me since honestly I am not buying Ketel One or Skky or premium top shelf for some of my ungrateful recipients. So... apparantly there are options. The use of a brita to filter absolutely just makes more sence than it should. It is a NO DUH kind of thing, and a "why didn't I think of that" kind of thing too.
So maybe this year I will give it the college try and infuse vodka again, but this year... it may just be for my freezer. I just have to pick my items to include in the infusion and I will be golden.
Tommorrow is Beaujolais Nouveaux-day. I honestly know so little about wine but I know that I am a sucker for marketing and this truely is the best marketing in the world. Third Thursday of November every year, people go completely bonkers for a wine release just "because". And I am going to fall prey as well... I did let my bottles last year sit too long (longer than the two months allotted for it to be at its peak) and it was really bitter and dare I say "gross". But with all the crazy I have going on this weekend, a nice bottle of wine might just do the trick.
