along came a spider and a moth and indian meal moths

and all these little creepy crawlers make me itch uncontrollably and wear shoes.

I am house sitting and the house has spiders. Yes I totally whigged about it. But the homeowner (my brother) does not allow for the ceremonial smackage of the shoe, so they live. Which doesn't particularly bode well for me, but it isn't my house, so short of sleeping with one eye open I don't know what else to do.

Moths are a problem here too. Those though I can smack with shoe. My mother would be so proud. I had an apartment once that would get miller moths like the armaggedon was upon us and I would call her over to come and scoop them up in her so amazing way with a paper towel. Now I am emotionally able to deal with it.

The Indian Meal Moths... well those are at my bosses house. I had a very interesting converstation with yet another exterminator dude from Orkin (they are really nice people by the way and do a job that I would NEVER ever do). He was really great and told me some pointers to give to the boss man that I will share with you...

don't buy bulk food (dry foods such as rice or flour) at natural food markets
keep your flour in the fridge or in a glass airtight container
same goes for sugar and brown sugar
they don't like chocolate milk mix
they totallly love oatmeal and will infest through the paper container... put it in something else
killing the flyers does no good, you have to kill the larve (eeeeeewwwwwlarve)

and the best was

tomato plans are just asking for bug trouble.

So instead (and which was part of the plan in the first place) I went and bought lavender. Pest free. Because they have a very strong scent and no fruit.

I am also going to learn how to propgate garlic. My grandmother had it growing wild in her yard and I really have to say I miss fresh fresh garlic.

Trying to wrap up all the plans for the weekend. I am thinking... sleep, relax, chillout and watch all the Comcast on demand options that I can. Its all about the second season of the Real World at my whimsy. Now if Dick Wolf would only do the same for Law and Order... I would be in heaven...chung chung.
