yes its true...

I just watched the talent show edition of Fame.

A further update on my trading spaces marathon issues:
1) never ever let me do that again, I completely rearranged all the furniture in the house, which meant moving art, which meant hidding 1000 cds, which meant waking up every 20 freakin' minutes until 4 in the freakin' morning thinking of how I could silver leaf this, or paint that or recover those chairs or paint a chicken behind that couch... not good... not good at all.

2) I drove to three home depots, expo (a home depot designer showroom thingie), the great indoors and two lowes to try and find light fixture globes for my very very dated dining room fixture. No one had anything other than the fugly plain white ones that I already have... lameo.

3) I called a tile expert friend of mine to find out if I could logistically tile over the lino countertops that I have because they are just really old. He said I could but it would look like hell. So ... I am thinking about ordering corian countertops... I have no counters as it is so it won't be that expensive.

4) Pulled the carpet out of the bathroom (yes... in the bathroom... I know its gross... I know its nasty.... but... ok I know) and now have floors that desperately need some attention. This weekend... laying down plain lino tiles until I can get the real ceramic tiles that I want.

5) took more boxes to storage.

6) found and bought paint for the bathroom, ok its white but the paint base is really yummy, not quiet flat but not enamelie looking either... like a reflective satin with a slight blue-ish/pink-ish undertone, its going to be like I am bathing inside a sea shell. Its a custom mix, they didn't want to do it, but when you wait 35 minutes for the lighting guy at lowes to not return and tell you that he doesn't have anymore of the globies you want and you bitch about it to the boring paint guy while looking for chips and he says what are you looking to do... and when I said: aurora borelious but less intense... he said... hmmmm I have an idea. And wham... I hope it doesn't look crappy. But then again, it is white based and can be painted over.

7) Oh lucky seven: I am seriously very seriously considering what it would take to cover up the riverrock that is my fireplace. Any ideas? I would really really love brick, but that is out of the question because I would have to rip out the rocks and concrete and the idea of that ... well not something I could seriously do on my own. So... I am thinking about white washing their brown blechie rockie ness and making it less ... oh shall I say... out doors like.

I will say this one other thing... thank gawd for air conditioning. I talked to my friend who lives in Vegas... she said it was already 109 degrees there today... that is slippery hot. And not necessarily in a fun way.
