Its late, I know but...

That being said quite a full full day. Woke up early (which was wierd because only on the weekends do I wake up before 7, when I shouldn't be), and took the pupster for a walk, made a bagel for breakfast and perused the Target circular. Deciding very quickly that what they have on sale this weekend doesn't really grab me. I think its funny that the first thing I grab from the Sunday paper is the Target ad, then the Best Buy ad, then the Walgreens ad, and then the coupons and then maybe the real newpaper.

Around noon my Mom came and picked me up and we drove to Colorado Springs for a suprise birthday party for an old family friend. I will say this loud and say it proud... I have always thought this guy was very cute (from when I was about 10) to even now. And yes... his girlfriend seems very nice, high spirited and a perfect match for him which is terrific, he definately deserves all the happiness he has right now. And he was surprised and that was the point. The drive up seemed to take for.ev.er, but it was kinda fun because I am so rarely a passenger in a car anymore it was nice to just look out the window at the scenery. If we weren't driving 80 miles per hour and the images wouldn't have been one big swoosh I would have taken some pictures. And yes... I finally realize Pikes Peak is to the South West. And yes... it is beautiful. And Yes... I may actually (dare I even admit it...) go camping this summer.

Came home and gave the pup a haircut, his summer doo if you will. He is no longer a big fluffy ball o' bichon/poodle mix, now he is a slick little pup who won't overheat because it is already getting to be 80 degrees during the day. I think he was so happy he played with is toy stuffed squirrel solo tonite. Talking about making me proud.

Made spinach and pistacho pesto tonite too. I need to let it sit for one more night about 24 hours and I will add some more olive oil and garlic then freeze about half of it. Yum. Its so incredibly simple and I never measure. A bag of baby spinach, some pistachio nuts instead of pine nuts, olive oil, chopped garlic and a Quisinart (my second favorite toy next to my Kitchenaid mixer) and go. It was so super easy and I have a nice base for salad dressing, marinade, pasta sauce, you name it.

Finally finishing The Orchid Thief. Man has that been a trial to finish, not because the book isn't interesting nor isn't wonderful, its just its Season Finale' / Show Finale' time of the year and its hard to concentrate on reading. I am going to get better...I hope.
