dead people's things

I spent most of the morning rummaging through three different antique malls near my house. I am not an antiquer. By the way. But I do so love a funky jar, weird bottle and of course the afformentioned pink pyrex and pink melmac kitchen stuff.

At the second of the Antique Malls (my favorite of the three I go to) there was this absolutely adorable older couple who just were walking and commenting on everything. Things like "we had one of those but ours was made in China", "honey you think that is fire king?" his reponce "for 50 bucks for a bowl is sure as hell better be... " to which she said "50 bucks? we should sell all our crap here". At that point I had to walk up to them and tell them how much I was enjoying over hearing/nay evesdropping on their conversation. We sat in this one booth and talked for like a half an hour. They have been married 60 years. They have a grandson named Conner (he is freakin' cute too... I saw a picture). Then bam! out of no where the husband looks really startled and a little concerned. I ask if he is ok and he doesn't speak just points ... and in the bottom of this bookshelf thing there is this wire covering and inside of the cage is a fake chicken. It totally looks real and out of the corner of my eye while he is pointing I get a little freaked out too. It was the funniest damn thing. I took a picture.

I was talking with this neighbor of mine. He is moving. We don't talk much, but he is so nice and its a shame to see him move, but he is renting and wants to be closer to work (which I can totally dig).

I wore completely the wrong shoes today too. My feet are absolutely killing me. Good thing I got all the supplies I needed for my projects and can get a move on that tonite!
